I received my Bachelor’s in Chicana/o Studies with a minor in Women Studies from UCLA. At UCLA I joined Global Medical Training, where I was the only native Spanish speaker to travel to Panama to provide
free basic medical aid to the poor. After graduating I ran a shelter & transitional home for 4 years. I then received my Masters & Doctorate in Traditional Chinese Medicine & Herbology with a concentration in Orthopedics & Medical Qigong from Five Branches University. I am a licensed acupuncturist in the state of Texas & am board certified as a diplomat of acupuncture by the National Certificate Commission for Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). The modalities I use are acupuncture, herbal medicine, electrical stimulation, manual therapies (cupping, guasha, Chinese medical massage), & dietary & lifestyle counseling.
